Handoff to Site Owner
After a project is completed and the as-built is generated, contractors can hand off the documentation to the site owner. The site owner receives the floor plans in their own portfolio workspace.
As-Built Deep Copy
When a project advances from Closeout to Substantial Completion (both parties sign off on the closeout walk), LogicSite deep-copies the entire floor plan document — pages, device icons, annotations, coverage shapes, and now conduit paths and junction boxes — into a frozen as-built version. The warranty period starts at this moment. The frozen as-built is read-only and becomes the canonical record of what was installed.
CAD Export Support
As-built packages include CAD-friendly exports in addition to the rasterized WebP tiles used for on-screen rendering. This lets site owners archive the installation in their own CAD tooling or hand it off to another integrator without re-digitizing.
How Handoff Works
Open a completed project with a frozen as-built document.
Click Hand Off to generate a handoff package.
LogicSite creates a claim code and sends an email to the site owner with instructions.
The site owner clicks the link or enters the claim code to receive the floor plans.
What the Site Owner Receives
When a site owner claims a handoff package:
- Floor plans appear in their portfolio under the appropriate site
- A vendor relationship is automatically created with the contractor
- The as-built is read-only — a permanent record of the installation
- The site owner can fork the as-built to create an editable copy for future changes
Claim Codes
- Each handoff package has a unique claim code
- Codes have an expiration date — unclaimed packages expire automatically
- The contractor can see the status: pending, claimed, or expired
If the site owner doesn't have a LogicSite account yet, the email includes a sign-up link. After creating their account, they can claim the package with the same code.
After Handoff
The site owner can:
- View all devices and their placements on the as-built floor plans
- Submit service requests back to the contractor for maintenance or modifications
- Share design shares with contractors for proposed changes (with change order workflows)
- Fork the as-built to plan renovations or expansions
