Project Timeline

Every project has a Timeline tab — an interactive Gantt chart where you schedule the phases of the work, assign them to people, and watch progress roll up from the devices themselves.

Phases

A phase is a named span of work — Rough-In, Trim, Commissioning, whatever fits your job. Each phase carries:

  • Start and end dates, drawn as a bar on the timeline
  • An assignee — the team member who owns that stage
  • A status — planned, in progress, blocked, or completed
  • Member devices — the devices that phase covers

Phase status can be manual (you set it yourself) or derived from device completion — when a phase uses a device-based completion criterion, its status and progress bar update automatically as devices are completed. 0% is planned, anything in between is in progress, 100% is completed. Every surface reads the same resolved status, so the Gantt chip, grouping, and edit drawer always agree.

Working the Timeline

Open your project and go to the Timeline tab. Switch between day, week, and month zoom levels.

Drag a phase bar to reschedule it, or drag its edges to change duration. Dependency-aware guardrails keep the schedule consistent.

Drag a device row within a phase to set that device's install date and target completion date.

Assign each phase to a team member — the Gantt groups phases into per-person swimlanes, so it is clear at a glance who owns what.

Assigning Devices to Phases

Phases become useful when they know which devices they cover. Use the assign tree to add device groups or individual devices to a phase — including unplaced groups that exist only in the Sheets grid so far. Each device then carries a per-phase status you can update from the grid's phase columns or the timeline's device rows.

Working a single phase in the field? Use the Sheets grid's Focus selector to filter the grid to one phase's devices with that phase's status column pinned front and center. See The Sheets Grid & BOM.

Deadline Alerts

Phase deadlines shouldn't be a surprise. LogicSite notifies the phase assignee and project managers:

  • Ahead of the deadline — within a lead window you control (how many days before the end date).
  • When a phase goes overdue — repeating on a cadence you choose until it's resolved.

Both knobs live in Settings → Notifications, alongside the Timeline & Deadlines topic toggle that controls email and push delivery for phase events.

Everything Is Logged

Creating, editing, and deleting phases all land in the project Activity Log, so schedule changes have the same audit trail as everything else.
