Workspace Planner
The Planner (in the sidebar) is the cross-project scheduling surface for your whole workspace. It is one surface with two views, switched at the top:
- Calendar — a week / month / year grid showing phase bars, scheduled work orders, service requests, and tasks from every project you belong to.
- Gantt — a read-only cross-project timeline of phases, with progress bars, for a portfolio-level look at where every job stands.
Filters for project and customer apply to both views, so you can narrow the planner to one job or one client and switch views without losing context.
The Calendar View
Everything on the calendar is clickable. Instead of navigating away, clicking an item opens a quick view — a compact summary with status, dates, project, and team — plus one deep link to open the full record when you need it.
| On the calendar | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Phase bars | See span and status; quick view deep-links to the project Timeline |
| Work order chips | Drag to reschedule; quick view shows dispatch details |
| Service request chips | Track incoming and in-flight requests |
| Task chips | Drag to reschedule, mark done, or delete from the quick view |
Tasks: Quick Capture on the Calendar
Tasks are the planner's lightweight to-dos — "call the inspector Thursday" — deliberately simple by design:
- A title, an optional description, a date (or a date range)
- An assignee (defaults to you) and an optional project pointer
- Done / not done — that's the whole lifecycle
Tasks are visible to your whole team on the shared calendar, and the creator or assignee can edit or complete them. They render as chips on every day they cover and drag to reschedule like anything else.
Creating From the Planner
Click + New in the calendar legend, or click any day to open the same menu.
Choose New task (everyone), New phase (if you can edit at least one project's timeline), or Schedule work order (contractors — picks from the unscheduled dispatch queue).
The item lands on the calendar immediately — drag it later if plans change.
The planner is where you see and nudge the schedule; the per-project Timeline tab is where you edit it in depth — phase dependencies, device dates, and completion criteria all live there.
