Messaging
LogicSite's messaging system keeps team communication where it belongs — inside your projects. Instead of scattered emails and chat threads, discussions happen in context so everyone can find the information they need.
Project Messages
Every project has a built-in messages section where your team can discuss the work.
Open your project and navigate to the Messages tab.
Type your message and send.
Your team members with access to this project will see the message and can reply.
Why In-Context Communication Matters
For security contractors and project managers, the biggest communication challenge isn't sending messages — it's finding them later. LogicSite solves this by tying discussions to their project context:
- Project messages stay with the project, accessible to anyone on the team
- Device discussions are linked to specific equipment, so notes about a camera placement are right where you need them
- Annotation comments are pinned to floor plan locations, providing spatial context
Use project messages for general project coordination — schedule updates, scope changes, and team announcements. Use device-level discussions for equipment-specific conversations. Use annotation comments for location-specific notes.
Staying Informed
When someone sends a message in a project you're assigned to, you'll receive a notification. This keeps you informed without having to constantly check every project. Device and device-group discussions update live — when a teammate posts a comment, it appears in the open panel without a refresh.
Choosing What Reaches You
Notifications are on by default, but you control how they reach you. The Notifications tab in your settings lets you tune delivery per topic — service requests, work orders, handoff and closeout, design sharing, project activity, mentions and invitations, and account notices — across two channels:
- Email — turn off topics you don't want in your inbox.
- Push — turn off topics you don't want on your devices.
The in-app inbox always shows everything, no matter what you mute. You're only deciding what reaches your email and your devices — nothing is ever lost from the inbox itself. A master switch at the top of each column turns a whole channel on or off in one click.
Best Practices
- Keep messages project-specific — Use project messages for topics related to that project
- Reference devices and locations — When discussing specific equipment, mention the device name so others can find it
- Check messages regularly — Important project updates often come through messages
